Question 1

What is an SEO consultant?

Accepted Answer

An SEO consultant is a senior specialist who plans and directs a website's search visibility strategy, rather than executing tactical tasks in-house. A consultant advises on priorities, coordinates delivery, and measures commercial outcomes. Search Equity Group operates as an SEO consultancy led by Jessica Seed, with specialist delivery coordinated behind the strategy.

Question 2

What is AI search optimisation, and how is it different from SEO?

Accepted Answer

AI search optimisation, sometimes called generative engine optimisation or GEO, is the practice of making a website eligible to be retrieved, understood, and cited by generative AI systems including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews. It shares foundations with traditional SEO (crawlability, useful content, authority signals) but places extra weight on entity clarity, self-contained answers, and third-party mentions that AI systems treat as evidence.

Question 3

How do I get my business to appear in ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity answers?

Accepted Answer

Start with pages that are crawlable, indexable, and genuinely useful. Answer specific questions clearly, support claims with evidence, make the business and its expertise unambiguous, and build credible third-party mentions. ChatGPT search requires access for OAI-SearchBot; Claude uses live web search with citation; Perplexity crawls with PerplexityBot. These steps improve eligibility. No platform guarantees inclusion.

Question 4

How do I appear in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode?

Accepted Answer

Google states there are no additional technical requirements or special schema for its AI features. A page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet. From there the fundamentals apply: helpful people-first content, sound technical SEO, internal links, strong page experience, and structured data that matches the visible page. Meeting these conditions improves eligibility, not guarantees. Google Search Console is the first place to confirm indexing and monitor performance.

Question 5

What does an SEO consultant cost?

Accepted Answer

Fractional SEO Director support starts at £4,500 a month. Monthly Search Consultancy starts at £2,495 a month. Search Visibility Jumpstart is a £995 one-off paid SEO and AI search diagnostic for one website. An SEO Support Bank provides eight hours of senior SEO support for £750 as a one-off project. For teams carrying out implementation themselves, consultancy-only support is available from £1,695 a month.

Question 6

Is Search Equity Group an agency?

Accepted Answer

No. Search Equity Group is a senior SEO and AI search consultancy, led by Jessica Seed. Strategy, client relationships, and quality oversight are led at senior level. Relevant specialist delivery is coordinated as needed. This structure gives clients direct senior input without the layered account management of a larger agency.

Question 7

Can you guarantee rankings or inclusion in AI answers?

Accepted Answer

No credible SEO consultant or AI search consultant can guarantee a specific ranking, lead volume, or inclusion in an AI-generated answer. Search Equity Group focuses on improving the technical, content, and authority signals that support discoverability and commercial performance. Any consultancy or agency promising guaranteed rankings should be treated with caution.

Question 8

Do you work with clients outside the UK?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Search Equity Group works with English-speaking organisations internationally. The consultancy is based in the UK and delivers remotely with clients throughout the UK, Europe, America, and beyond.
