SEARCH CONVERSION GUIDE

Why is my website getting traffic but no enquiries?

Traffic is an opportunity, not a commercial outcome. A website may attract visitors without generating enquiries when it targets the wrong intent, sends people to unclear pages, gives too little evidence to build confidence or makes the route to contact too difficult.

Follow the whole journey from search to contact.

The answer is not automatically more traffic. The useful question is whether the right people are arriving, whether the landing page meets the promise of the query and whether the business gives them a clear, credible and low-friction reason to make contact.

  1. 01

    Check search intent

Review the queries and pages producing visits. Broad informational searches can be useful for awareness but may not be ready to generate a commercial enquiry. The page needs to match what that visitor was trying to solve.

  2. 02

    Review the landing page

A visitor should be able to understand the service, who it is for, what makes the offer relevant and how to get in touch without working through vague language or multiple dead ends.

  3. 03

    Remove practical friction

Test the mobile experience, page speed, calls to action, form flow, contact options and thank-you tracking. A conversion may be lost because the visitor cannot complete the next step, not because the SEO attracted the wrong audience.

  4. 04

    Measure the meaningful outcome

Track form submissions, calls, qualified conversations and any other agreed conversion point. This makes it possible to distinguish visitor volume from the pages, searches and channels that contribute to genuine business opportunities.

WHAT CAN CAUSE IT

The practical areas to check.

  • Visitors arrive through broad, low-intent or poorly matched searches
  • Service pages do not clearly explain the offer or buyer relevance
  • The page lacks evidence, reassurance or a clear reason to choose the business
  • Calls to action, forms or contact details create unnecessary friction
  • The mobile experience or page speed interrupts the visitor journey
  • Forms, calls or qualified leads are not being recorded correctly
